Vehicle History

Original and what seems to be rare these days, this CJ5 Laredo was a Southern Jeep used by it's previous owner to transport his boat to a lake nearby. I would rate this as 98% rust free, with only one minor rust hole near the roll bar attachment point on the floor. Some light surface rust along the edges of the interior tub.

Exterior

The original paint and decals show the signs of twenty two years of age. Unfortunately, black paint always shows every little scratch or nick and this Jeep is no exception. Included is an older used (in decent condition) after-market soft top for this Jeep, however it is not installed. The top would be shipped separate from the Jeep; no additional cost if full price is achieved. (otherwise shipping charges WILL apply)

Interior Condition

New carpet throughout interior. I've added very rare N.O.S. original OEM roll bar padding and saddle bags. Passenger and rear bench seats are in good condition, however as in typical fashion, the drivers seat is torn on the bottom section. The previous owner had glued an indoor/outdoor type carpet onto the floor leaving behind a glue residue along the interior floor. Some dash gauges need repair; currently the fuel gauge doesn't work and the plastic overlay around the gauges is loose and in need of replacement. The original Jeep Tach was replaced with an aftermarket model, however I have the original one and it is included. Restoration expectations and plans should include rebuilding the entire dash from scratch with new paint, gauges, heater control knobs, etc.

The speedometer shows 12,800 miles , however the original owner said it stopped working at this mileage and the actual mileage is closer to 60,000. Of course this can't be verified, so I'm selling this as "mileage unknown". The overall condition and wear would justify the mileage at 60k plus.

Mechanical

Engine runs well, doesn't seem to burn any oil or produce any engine noises, etc. Runs smooth and quiet. Transmissions shifts well and clutch seems OK. Four wheel drive works well, shifts smoothly.
