Vehicle Background

Up for auction is what seems to be rare these days is an original 1982 CJ7 Laredo. Purchased NEW in Texas by its original owner this is a dry and nearly rust free Texas Jeep. I am the second owner residing in Delaware where this Jeep has been garaged for nearly two years. I would rate this as 98% rust free with some typical surface rust (under carriage, leaf springs, etc.) however no rust through or cancers that I can see. Original dealer window sticker documentation comes with the Jeep.

Exterior Description

The original paint and decals show the signs of twenty three years of age. Unfortunately, black paint always shows every little scratch or nick and this Jeep is no exception. Included is a hard top which also shows the signs of wear with some surface scratches and fading from the hot Texas sun. Both fenders have a large area of scratches on the very top. This all said for a 23 year old CJ7 still with it original paint and decals this Jeep Laredo still shines up very nice and looks sharp going down the road.

Spare tire carrier is included. I have lost the mounting hardware. Sorry no spare tire available.

Interior Description

New carpet throughout interior. Passenger and rear bench seats are in good condition, No rips or tears in any seats; very rare for a Jeep this age. The OEM clock runs but the clock hands are sticking and sometimes don't move. The dash pad has two cracks; one on the very end, passenger side and one near the drivers side on the top. Both cracks were taped by the original owner. This Jeep was purchased originally without a radio package and therefore it has no factory installed antenna. However, the original owner did install an after market AM/FM cassette radio; no speakers installed to tell if it works or not. The roll is padded but has several homemade holes it from where the original owner had something attached to the roll bar. Overall a very clean looking original interior. For a 23 year old CJ7 Laredo the condition of this interior and especially the seats is amazing.

Mechanical Description

Engine runs well, doesn't burn / leak any oil or produce any engine noises, etc. Runs smooth and starts right up. Engine has good pick up and drives nice down the road. All emissions intact. Transmission shifts well seems OK. Four wheel drive works well, shifts smoothly. The only condition I've noticed and it's probably do to being stored, if this Jeep sits for 3-4 days or more without being started it requires a jump start. Air conditioning not charged. Compressor kicks in but no cold air.
